I’ve come to realize that every one is a leader–no matter how young or inexperienced. The so-called “next generation” of teenagers and young adults are actually today’s leaders.
My passion for leadership started as a teenager. I’ve always loved rallying a group of people around a common goal. I soon realized that even though I was young, I could still make a difference; I could still be an example to others. Then, at the age of 18, I was hired to be the director of the media department at a large church. With less than a dozen volunteers on my team and no formal leadership training, I embarked on a wild journey. Through many “trial and error” adventures, I learned and grew in the area of leadership. Now, almost 5 years later, I lead a media/tech crew of over 45 people. Every week I’m responsible to “rally the troops” as we work in the area of multimedia production and advertising. It’s not always easy, but it’s always a blast to empower others through leadership.
I still don’t know everything about leading (not even close!), but I have learned many things over the past few years. And that’s what I hope to share with you on this blog. I’m passionate about encouraging and equipping other young people in the area of leadership.
Hope you enjoy this blog.
